If you downloaded the mod pack before the time/date of this post. (9pm Eastern on March 1st), then you'll need to disable one mod in the pack. It's called EiraIRC mod. It was added by mistake and should not be in the pack.
So if you have your instance highlighted in MultiMC, goto the menu on the right side and pick "Instance Settings". Then you'll see the option for Loader Mods and you can scroll down to the mod and just clear the check box.
Also - one other minor bug that I haven't gotten a chance to fix is a sound bug when you connect to the server. Really loud and annoying, but sounds like it plays all game sounds for about 2-4 seconds. Just pretend its a 'wake up' call to get you hyped for playing! :)
